The Lung Association of Newfoundland and Labrador
Lung Savers Support Group
Lung Savers is a program for people affected by chronic lung disease and their families. It is organized and coordinated by volunteers who have lung problems themselves.
The aim of the program is to improve the respiratory health of those affected by a chronic lung condition. Through presentations by professionals, the group learns more about their lung diseases and the things they can do to make living with their condition easier.
The program provides:
* an educational forum for those with chronic lung disease so they can deal more effectively with the day-to-day management of their condition.
* an atmosphere for sharing mutual concerns and emotional support.
* increased public awareness and education.
Meetings are held monthly from September to December and from April to June in the St. John’s area.
