Smokers' Helpline Referral Program

Help Connect Your Patients/Clients to Smoking Cessation Support

The Newfoundland and Labrador Lung Association encourages healthcare providers, community organizations, workplaces and schools to partner with us through the Smokers' Helpline Referral Program to help individuals who smoke connect with information/support to help them quit and stay smokefree.

When you make a referral (through fax or online), a Helpline quit coach will call the individual within 3 days to let them know about the quit-smoking services available.  The Helpline will offer advise and information about creating their own personal quit plan covering topics such as managing cravings and withdrawal, smoking cessation medications, setting goals, managing stress, incorporating healthy eating and exercise, and more!  Individuals may choose to receive follow-up support, as well, to help them through the process of quitting.  Programs are offered over-the-phone, online and through email or texts.
